Why is a Utah Energy Star Homes Builder Better?

Energy Star® Homes builders have separated themselves from the mainstream by building high quality homes that conserve energy, save money, and help the environment.
All Utah Energy Star® homes are inspected by independent Certified Utah Home Energy Raters.

Select from the Utah home builders listed below who have signed on to be EPA Energy Star® Home Builders. These Utah builders have received information from Energy Rated Homes of Utah to assist them in building your Energy Star® Home. If the builder you choose, or have chosen, does not appear on this list, you or your builder may call 1-801-765-0034 to find out how to become an Energy Star® Home Builder.

The Home Energy Consultants from Energy Rated Homes of Utah who conduct your certification analysis and testing will provide you and your builder with guidance on building your Utah Energy Star Home as part of the Home Energy Rating Service in Utah.

Consumers who purchase an Energy Star® home can be confident that they are investing in a home that has scored a minimum of five stars and 86 points on the HERS scale. Utah Energy Star home owners will save money every month on their utility bill, have a more comfortable home all year long, and make a positive impact on the environment.

How to become a Utah Energy Star® Homes Program Builder

Introduction:
Contact Energy Rated Homes of Utah for details specific to your area and location. The staff of Energy Rated Homes of Utah will work with you and your subcontractors on each individual house that you want to build to make sure that the home meets the Energy Star® Homes Program standards. These highly trained energy specialists will perform an in-depth whole house inspection and test of your home for energy efficiency, air tightness, design, and even duct tightness upon completion. When the house meets the Utah Energy Star Homes Program standards (a score of 85 points out of 100 and a 5 Star HERS Rating) an Energy Star®
label is obtained to display on the electrical box, and Energy Star® certificate can be displayed prominently inside the home.

Sign the Partnership Agreements:
You will need to sign an Energy Star® Homes Program/Energy Star partnership Agreement (located on our “How To Participate” section of this web-site) so you can market your home as a Energy Star® Home. As soon as we receive your agreements, you will be included on this web-site and provided additional information specific to the Energy Star® Homes Program and selective marketing opportunities related to it.
